what does the figure represent? please summarize
For ancestral state reconstruction of scansorial and terrestrial traits, the scansorial to terrestrial irreversible model performed slightly better than the equal rates model (?AICc=0.77). Using both these models resulted in similar reconstructions. Scansorial form was retrieved as the ancestral state, whereas terrestrial lineages evolved more recently five times independently in the Indian radiation (Figure 3). The earliest diversification of the terrestrial geckos began between 19-12 Mya, and this clade consists of six terrestrial species - H. gracilis, H. reticulatus, H. sataraensis, H. imbricatus, H. vijayraghavani and H. albofasciatus. This was closely followed by the diversification of the H. triedrus clade from 10 to 6Ma. Terrestriality in the other three lineages - H. scabriceps, H. malcolmsmithi and H. cf. gleadowi - evolved more recently. Figure 3 Open in figure viewer | s.
