Three phase of the uterine cycle. Notice the functional layer of the menstrual phase is almost gone. The proliferative phase is when the functional lining is building back up. It's thicker and has small endometrial glands. The secretory phase is getting ready for implantation of the fertilized egg. The tissue becomes more juicy and the glands are large and dominate the tissue. If no implantation, this layer sloughs off during the menstural
