The truss shown is supporting the service dead and live loads show.
Calculate the factored load in member BC (tension member)
The truss shown is supporting the service dead and live loads show. Calculate the factored load in member BC (tension member) and member \( \mathrm{GH} \) (compression member). Select a C4 or C5 channel \( (\mathrm{Fy}=36 \mathrm{ksi}, \mathrm{Fu}=58 \mathrm{ksi}) \) for member BC. It is connected by 1 in bolts at its flanges. There are four bolts in each flange with 3 in on center. Check that the slenderness ratio is less than 300 . Select the lightest \( \mathrm{C} 15 \) section \( (\mathrm{Fy}=36 \mathrm{ksi}, \mathrm{Fu}=58 \mathrm{ksi}) \) for the compression member \( \mathrm{GH} \). Consider it pin connected \( (\mathrm{K}=1.0) \).
