The intracellular and extracellular
concentrations of ions are given below. The membrane is permeable
to K+ and Cl- , but not to Na+ and A- . There is no active pump on
the membrane. Initial concentrations of each ions are as follow (in
mM):
\( 1.1 \) Is the system in electrochemical equilibrium? \( 1.2 \) Is each compartment at space charge neutrality? 1.3 Which direction will each ion move? 1.4 What are the final equilibrium levels of concentration of each ion will reach in I and II? 1.5 At \( 20^{\circ} \mathrm{C} \), what is the final equilibrium potential for \( \mathrm{K}^{+} \)and for \( \mathrm{Cl}^{-} \)?
