The figure below shows a general diagram of a drilling rig. The workpiece is brought into position and supported with clamps.

The figure below shows a general diagram of a drilling rig. The workpiece is brought into position and supported with clamps. Two holes will be drilled in the piece. One of them vertical and the other horizontal. Both must pass through the same internal point; therefore, they cannot be drilled at the same time. The circuit to design implements the following cycle: 1. When the workpiece is clamped in position, the operator will press the start button, causing cylinder A to extend. The rotary drill bit descends and drills the vertical hole. 2. When the A cylinder is fully down, LS2 actuates, causing the A cylinder to retract and the drill bit to withdraw from the part. 3. When cylinder A returns all the way up, LS1 is actuated, causing cylinder B to extend and drill the horizontal hole. 4. When the B cylinder is fully extended, LS3 is actuated, causing the B cylinder to retract and withdraw the drill bit, finishing the process. In order for a new one to start, it will be necessary to wait for a new piece to be placed and the start to be pressed. It is important that an emergency stop button be placed which will stop the process at any time and this will return the cylinder that is trading to its original position (which is not part of the exercise). To start the process again it will be necessary to press the start button. Design the control circuit that works with the features described above. IEC norm.
