The circuit diagram of a three-phase full-wave diode rectifier is shown in Figure 1. The performance parameters of the rectifier with a resistive-inductive load (not ac motor) are given by:

Simulation Circuit Parameters:

Vsupply_LL=30V @ 60Hz,

RL=10ohm and L=35mH

Make use of the parameters and construct a full-wave rectifier and a six-pulse bridge in PSIM. Perform a transient analysis of each circuit for three complete 60 Hz periods.

  1. Record the waveforms of load voltage Vo and load current Io.
  2. Measure the average load voltage Vo(DC), the RMS load voltage Vo(RMS), the average load current Io(dc), the RMS load current Io(RMS), the RMS input current Ia(RMS), the RMS input phase voltage Van and the average load power PLOAD. Tabulate results.
  3. Determine the harmonic spectrum of each current (R Load) using the FFT function.
  4. Create a table of the first 5 harmonic values obtained in Question 3.
  5. Determine the THD, Form Factor, Power Factor, and Crest Factor for the source currents in each circuit.
