The bicycle of figure 2 is subjected to the forces: W=7000N;R1=3920N; and R2=3080N. Calculate the value of the forces along each indicated bar (A,B,C,D,E) of the bicycle. They may be compression or tension (remembering the example of the bars of the brass flag of our lecture).
Also don't forget that we are working with statics, and it implies in equilibrium of forces (sum of forces in points of application are zero). The points of application of the several forces are indicated by stars in the figure. The only forces to be considered are W, R1, and R2. No other weights of parts of the bicycle are relevant in this exercise.
