Pollination Syndromes Practical This practical examines the pollination syndromes of the flowers of Angiosperms. \"Syndromes\" are similar floral traits like colour, scent, size, shape and nectar traits seen in flowers that share pollinators. Syndromes result from convergent evolution driven by the \"preferences\" of specific kinds of pollinators. The concept of pollination syndromes allows us to make sense of the huge diversity of angiosperm flowers by grouping them based on their ecological function. Before starting this prac, watch \"The Private Life of Plants, episode 3 [Flowering]\" This video shows the pollination syndromes in action of many plants (including many South African species). We will watch and discuss this video in the final three lectures of the course.
