STRENGTH OF MATERIALS II HW3, Due: 31 Dec 2022 PROBLEM 4. The strains of \( \varepsilon_{a}=1200 \mu, \varepsilon_{\mathrm{b}}= \) \( 900 \mu \), and \( \varepsilon_{\mathrm{c}}=-600 \mu \) were read from a \( 45^{\circ} \) strain rosette that was placed on the wing base of the F-16 fighter aircraft as shown in the figure during a flight test. (a) Calculate the Principal Strains. (b) Calculate the principal stresses using the Material Equations. (c) Calculate the factor of safety at this point usign the theory of maximum shear stress (Tresca) and the theory of maximum deformation energy (von Mises). The material is 2014-T6 aluminum alloy.
