5. A pilot flies in a straight path for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then, the pilot makes a course correction. heading 15 degrees to the right of the original course, and flies 2 hours and 30 minutes in the new direction. If the pilot maintains a constant speed of 650 miles per hour, how far is the pilot from the starting position? Round the answer to twe decimal places. a) Draw a picture of the situation, labeling all angles and sides, and determine what you are solving for. (Your picture should contain a triangle!) b) From the information given in the problem, determine the distance the pilot traveled during the first 1 hour and 45 minutes. (Hint: recall the Distance Formula pictured to the right) c) From the information given in the problem, determine the distance the pilot traveled during the next 2 hours and 30 minutes. d) Add the information you found in parts (b) and (c) to your picture in part (a). Hopefully, your picture is of an SAS triangle. Use the Law of Cosines to find how far the pilot is from the starting position.
