Part of the wall frame system used in the construction of school classrooms is shown in Figure 3A. The system shows internal wall studs and noggings. Structural cladding, which is not shown in the illustration, is nailed on both sides of the frame. The wall studs are of grade MGP12 and have a cross-section of 190x35mm. The school is to be built in Forbes, New South Wales using seasoned Radiata Pine (Australia). The wall studs are 4.5m high and have intermediate restraints, only in the direction shown in Figure 3A. As part of the combined action check for the wall studs, ONLY determine the following: a. Nd,cx and b. Nd.cy Note: G=permanent load from roof; Q=imposed load from roof during construction and Wu-wind load (other than wind action reversal).
