The data collected includes their age, their job category (teaching \( v \) administration), their sex (male, female), their travel mode (walk, cycle, car, bus), their annual salary, the time taken to get to work in the morning and the time to return in the evening and the distance from their residence to the institute. Q3 (a) The morning travel time for the commuter survey sample data is analysed and the following report made. Mean morning commute time is \( 27.1 \) minutes and the standard deviation is \( 8.3 \) minutes. The median was found to be 24 minutes and the interquartile range to be \( 13.8 \) minutes. Interpret each of the underlined statistics. (8 Marks) (b) For the commuter survey data, state a chart that might be used to help address each of the following questions. (i) Do admin and teaching staff have a similar age profile? (ii) Is the male to female ratio different for admin and teaching staff? (iii) Does annual salary tend to increase linearly with age?
