(II) Applied problem using a standard curve Use the information given to draw a standard curve \& calculate the phosphate (P) concentration in a 24h urine sample. (On the table below fill in the P concentration in the P standards) A patient excreted 1430ml of urine in 24 hours. A 2ml aliquot/sample of the urine was placed in a 100ml volumetric flask, treated with 10ml of molybdate reagent and 4ml of aminonaphtholsulphonic acid reagent and diluted to the mark. A series of five colour standards was similarly prepared in which 0,1,2, 3 and 4ml of phosphate standard (containing 0.4mg of P in 5ml ) were used respectively. These were also diluted to 100ml after addition of the molybdate and aminoaphtholsulphonic acid reagents. The absorption was measured in a spectrophotometer at 660nm. Calculation of GRAMS of phosphate excreted per 24 hours.
