Fill in the diagrams below to depict the extraction of a substance (e.g. caffeine, represented by black dots) from water into another solvent (in this case, DCM, the bottom layer) over three separate washes. I have completed the first extraction for you. Hint: think about concentration and the procedure - after the first wash, you will set aside the bottom (DCM) layer and the brown aqueous layer will remain in the separatory funnel.
