Consider the heat engine cycle shown below (or see Figure_engine.pdf) that consists of Processes 1?4 discussed in previous assignments. This cycle of processes is known as a Stirling engine. It differs from the Carnot engine presented in the videos because it has both reversible and irreversible processes. The irreversible processes make it less efficient than a Carnot engine. Calculate the total work in joules done by the gas during the full cycle of all four processes: 1, 2, 3, and 4.
