An I-beam with a hinge in it carries a uniform distributed load. (Note that the bending moment must be zero at the hinge. In order to get the shear force and bending-moment distributions, you must take the beam apart at the hinge and use statics to calculate the shear force transmitted across the hinge.) Please calculate:
(a) the maximum bending stress (sigma_x), and the location at which it occurs in the beam
(b) the maximum shear stress (T), and its location.
