A point load P=2000kP is acting at point A as shown in the figure. Point B is at a distance x=3m and y=4m. Unit weight of soil is 16kN/m3. Compute the total stress at point B at a depth of 6m using Westergaard's Equation. 4. Calculate the stresses at a depth of 20m below the foundation level by the methods of (a) Boussinesq, (b) Westergaard at coordinated of (0,0),(0,15),(6,0),(6,15) and (10,25). Neglect the effect of foundation depth on the stresses.
