I know you can crunch numbers in an equation at this point, but let’s do something a little more fun with Kepler’s Third Law. Suppose someone hypothesizes an evil twin planet to Earth, called Nemesis, but we can’t see it, the hypothesizer says, because it’s always hidden from Earth by the Sun. However, it is an evil planet, the hypothesizer continues, because it is very close to the Sun making it broiling hot all the time. Do you buy this hypothesis? Why or why not? Explain your reasoning.
